Girl Time - I crushed (so the kids say) mahjong the other night, outside in my neighbor’s lush backyard, sipping rosé and nibbling Tony’s Chocolonely (an upgrade from our usual TJ’s Step Up To The Bar Snack Mix). Dreamy if I do say so myself. Adding more mahj time to the calendar stat. Locals - we learned so much from Mahj On My Mind. Non-locals - I continue to learn so much from Mahjong Molly. Re: the table below, sometimes saying never is ok. I will never own this and will forever be intimidated to play with anyone who does.
Transition to High School - We’re off to a good start with freshman football summer fun underway. Elliott eagerly reported “I made a new friend today” and I did internal backflips while externally staying so cool limiting myself to two questions - name and middle school. Many thanks to the hearts and souls behind this program.
28 days of Laura - I’m dedicating the next 28 days to improving Laura. My frozen shoulder has kickstarted this self-created/in the works program.
Step 1: A 28-day workout challenge including a mix of practically free at-home workouts and walks.Step 2: A new hormone magician (I don’t think she calls herself that but I am sharing with the universe that way).
Step 3: Read three books (the more I read, the earlier I go to bed, the better I sleep). What books? Not sure yet. Please leave a book recommendation in the comments!
Step 4: Make a progress chart (of course).
Summer wardrobe - I bought a striped set and am feeling so hip but trying to resist yet another pair of Birkenstocks.
Quickly starting to justify the water friendly Birk for my summer boat life. I miss routine - I love the more laid back feeling of summer but gotta admit, I miss SOME of the routines of the school year. With one child busy from early morning to dinner time and the other child available all day until dinner time, I feel like part of my already foggy brain is constantly divided knowing one child
most likelyabsolutely needs to get off their screen. You, too?
I see all of you in Europe and Hawaii and so many beautiful places. I also see all of you visiting family, taking care of elders, or staying local for whatever reason you may feel you have to but definitely don’t need to justify. Whatever your summer involves, I hope you enjoy your alone time (priorities) and your family time, your adventure time and your quiet time.

I just finished two great reads: Long Island Compromise (Taffy Broedesser-Akner) and Serena (Ron Rash). Serena is from 2008 but I've been on a Ron Rash kick and everything he writes is fantastic!
